Free PRIM ANN Pattern

Body

This doll pattern is one piece. Pin your pattern to doubled muslin. Make a small cut on the back of the doll. This is where you stuff from. Stitch pieces together. Clip all excess. You need to make sure you stuff firmly in the feet and hands. I find it easier to use a wood dowel rod or a long metal crochet needle to stuff with. Then sew the back of doll. Double knot thread to secure. Stitch by hand using red embroidery thread ANN on her lower body.  Go to the back of the doll where you closed it up and double knot to secure.

Legs

Use Barn Red acrylic paint for stockings. Take a small amount on your paint brush and dab on a scrap piece of paper until you get almost all the paint off the brush. Then paint all the way around the leg. You can then paint the tips of the feet all red. (See Diagram)

Face

Using the template provided on the pattern, trace the nose on to red felt. Then you can stitch the nose on Barn red #221 embroidery floss nose, black embroidery floss used for sewing on buttons and facial features.

When sewing on eyes and facial features, just go under the muslin fabric and stitch on eyes and features then stitch the mouth last so you can anchor the thread below the neckline where you closed up the doll. Double knot thread to secure.

Cheeks: I used barn red acrylic paint. Using the dabbing method again…. Dab dab till the paint is almost off the brush and apply in a circle motion. The more you put on the darker it shows.

Hair

Barn red embroidery floss is used for her hair #221. You will need to first sew 22 x’s around the dolls head. Then take two strands of the floss measuring 4 ½ “ long and weave in the doll’s head. To weave it in and out your will need to insert the needle into the doll’s head and pull it through. But not all the way, grab the other end in your hand and then insert the needle again into the same opening and pull both ends up. You will need to make sure there is 22 total on the dolls head. (see diagram) You can then give her hair a little trim.

Tea Stain:

You need to tea stain after the doll is DONE.  I use 1 / 4 cup of instant tea with 2 cups of hot hot water. And put in a spray bottle and spray all areas of doll body. Then let dry under a fan. I use a ceiling fan. The more tea you use the grubbier she will be. And making her OH SO PRIM!
